Come home to Nulki

Located on 8 pristine acres on the south shore of Nulki Lake, 28 kilometers south of Vanderhoof BC lies the Nulki Spirit Retreat.  This two story log dwelling is the perfect get-away for a family vacation, a family reunion, or just a romantic hideaway for two.

For the hunters, we are located in the heart of MU 7-12A with 5-13, 6-1, 6-4, 7-11, 7-12B, and 7-13 within easy access.  For the fishing enthusiast, you will find many great spots along the 7.5 km long Nulki Lake.  The lake produces Rainbow Trout up to 4lbs, and Burbot during the winter months.  There are also many other trophy lakes in the immediate vicinity that produce Rainbow and Kokanee.

The guest house is situated on the lake with a large waterfront deck.  It is designed for year round living and is a perfect spot for winter sports.  Nulki Lake is the home to many species of birds and waterfowl.  American Pelicans, Trumpeter Swans, Loons and Canada Geese are regular visitors along with many varieties of Ducks, Bald, and Golden Eagles, Osprey, Hawks, and an abundance of seasonal song birds and woodpeckers making this retreat a wonderful experience for the avid birder.  All of this can be viewed from the comfort of the deck or you could rent a canoe or row boat for a leisurely trip up the lake or up Corkscrew creek to visit the otters and the giant beaver dam.  Deer are also regular visitors to Nulki Spirit.  Whether they are just passing through or stopping for a drink from the lake, you are sure to see a few during your stay.

We welcome friendly pets, and we have a black lab of our own named Brutus who makes a wonderful host.  There are many trails at the retreat for walking and exercising your pet.  There is a covered patio on the second level of the house that is ideal for our guests who wish to smoke.

Nulki Lake is a wildlife and fishing lake and is not suitable for swimming.  There are however  several other activities for everyone to enjoy.  In the winter there is an abundance of snowmobiling terrain, plenty of areas for Cross Country Skiing, and when the lake freezes, there will be a rink cleared for skating or a little bit of stick and puck.  In the summer there are countless hiking trails located nearby.   As mentioned, Nulki is a great lake to fish, and there are also miles of back roads for the biking enthusiast to explore.

"We look forward to meeting you and having you come and share our little piece of heaven."

Mike, Penny and Brutus.
